Tourism Foodkit: How to use it
This foodkit is constantly evolving by responding to your suggestions and requests. The contents are based around the features which were shown to be the most popular in a recent Tourism survey.
Its aim is to be a food information companion to you, providing information, guidelines, suggestions and help to encourage and motivate you to offer your guests more local, seasonal, fresh food.
You can use it to:
- keep up-to-date with news and events
- find out about the food expectations of foreign visitors
- be motivated by success stories. These are businesses that have implemented an ethos of ‘local, seasonal, fresh’ and are now reaping the benefits
- work your way through the ‘minefield’ of different allergies and food preferences
- be inspired to try new recipes, using those donated by our resident top chef, Tom Kitchin, success stories, celebrities and many others
- learn what food is in season in Scotland and hence keep your costs down
- discover more about Scotland’s traditional and regional food specialities
- find out how you can improve and develop your and your staff's knowledge and skills
