Torridon Inn

The Torridon Inn, which is situated on the shores of Loch Torridon, provides the ideal balance between modern convenience and cosy comfort. It offers excellent food throughout the day, seven Scottish ales and looks after its four-legged friends as well as it does the two-legged ones. Liz Broome, the manager of the Inn, is passionate about Scottish produce and local suppliers and uses them to offer a menu that is full of dishes that are freshly prepared each day. In fact, she’s so keen on using fresh, seasonal food that she often has vegetable plants growing on the window sills.

The Inn is proud of the fact that 90% of its food suppliers are no more than an hour’s drive from it; and during the summer months much of the fruit, vegetables and herbs used in the dishes are grown in the Inn’s own kitchen garden. This ensures that the Inn serves fresh and seasonal food and that everyone from the cook to the serving staff are confident and knowledgeable about it.

Customers are amazed by the quality of food and drink and come back year after year. Liz has been the manager for seven years and with her commitment to using fresh, local produce, she has seen the turnover increase by over 200%. She has found that customers are happy to pay a bit more for the quality dishes.

Liz has found that customers are increasingly knowledgeable about food and are keen to know about the origins and locality of food served. They frequently ask for information about her suppliers who have also benefited from her commitment to using local suppliers.
